RENDEZ-VOUS DIAM: Let’s talk a little history!

For the first edition of RDV Diam in 2016 we decided to invite a hundred owners of iconic wine houses in the Burgundy region to the Château de Gilly, a unique encounter hosted by journalist and television presenter Franck Ferrand.

For those of you who do not know him, he hosts ‘Au cœur de l’histoire’ on Europe 1 and ‘L’ombre d’un doute’ on France 3. (TW https://twitter.com/franckferrand?lang=fr)

This encounter was an opportunity for Franck Ferrand to address a topic of which he is an enthusiast and expert: the relationship between history and wine.

Louis XIV, Montesquieu, Madame de Pompadour… The great names of history are effectively intimately related to wine.

The insight provided by the journalist and historian of this original subject provides the present owners with the opportunity to best capitalise on this heritage to optimally promote their wine and find inspiration to improve their growth.

During the closing lunch, the owners of the leading wine houses in attendance spoke of their selection of ‘grands vins’ corked with Diam closures that were available for tasting.
