30 June 2019
This month during two exceptional RDV Diam our customers discussed the topic ‘The French consumer and organic wines’. A subject that continues to generate considerable interest.
The first RDV took place on the 17th June in Saint-Cyprien, Roussillon - a first in the Pyrénées Orientales! 60 guests attended the debate moderated by Olivier Poels, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of La Revue des Vins de France, with a selection of very distinguished speakers:
Paolo BASSO, best sommelier in the world 2013
Eric BIRLOUEZ, agricultural engineer, sociologist specialising in agriculture and food
Patricia CHAIROPOULOS, head of the Food Section at 60 Million Consumers Magazine
Yann CHABIN, Associate General Manager, CSR Expert (new speaker on this topic)
Already discussed on several occasions, the topic of organic wines has once again generated many reactions and questions in a region that has many converted winegrowers: Occitania has more than 25,000 hectares of organically grown vines, which represents 9% of the regional vineyard.
It was in the sumptuous setting of Fontevraud Abbey that the second RDV Diam of June was held. The winegrowers of the Loire Valley, who had already welcomed us in 2015, were delighted with this year’s new RDV Diam and were also able to hear from our distinguished speakers.
